Inclusions

Your dive includes a 30 minute exploration of this underwater wonderland. This dive is the same for Introductory and Certified programs. The tank contains an endless number of creatures that are very keen to meet you with 4 different species of sharks including 7 adult and 1 juvenile Grey Nurse Shark, Maia, who was born at Oceanworld in 2001.

There are 4 different species of rays including the huge queen mattress-sized smooth stingrays, you will also encounter giant turtles and the marine life of Sydney Harbour including snapper any fisherman would be proud of and enormous mulloway.

• After your shark dive you can freshen up with a hot shower. Then check out the photographic evidence of your shark diving adventure and take the opportunity to ask your instructor any further questions about the marine life in a debrief. Purchase images on CD or images and video footage on a DVD to relive the experience and prove to your mates that you really did it! Remember your shark dive experience forever!

Dives

Shark Dive Xtreme Introductory Program

This dive is suitable for first-time divers and includes:

• Introduction to scuba diving briefing and pool skills session
• 30 min Oceanarium tank dive
• All equipment supplied (can bring own mask and full length wetsuit)
• De-brief and certificate

The Shark dive experience commences with an Oceanarium tunnel tour where you are introduced to the sharks from a distance. Then move into the shark dive classroom to for a SCUBA, equipment and safety briefing. Divers on the Introductory program will then gear up in wetsuits and weight belts, psych up and enter the dive training pool adjacent to the 5,000,000 litre Oceanarium. Here you'll learn how to breathe underwater with personalised tuition from our dive instructors. Once the instructors see that you are comfortable with the equipment and in the water, then it's time to enter the main shark tank!

Shark Dive Xtreme Scuba Tune Up

This dive is suitable for qualified divers who have logged less than 15 dives or haven't dived in the last 6 months. (Please note: Tune Up divers can only book into Introductory sessions) Dive includes:

• Refresher training & pool skills session
• 30 min Oceanarium dive
• All equipment supplied including full length wetsuit (can bring own mask and full length wetsuit)
• Debrief & Certificate

The Shark Dive experience commences with an Oceanarium tunnel tour where you are introduced to the sharks from a distance. Then move into the shark dive classroom to for a SCUBA, equipment and safety briefing. Tune Up divers will then refresh their skills in the pool to ensure they're very comfortable in the water and know how to recover their regulator and clear their mask. Then it's time for some final gear checks before diving in to the main aquarium.

Shark Dive Xtreme Certified Program

This dive is suitable for qualified divers who have logged more than 15 dives or have dived in the last 6 months. (Please note: Dedicated certified diver sessions are AVAILABLE ONLY FOR BOOKINGS OF AT LEAST 4 CERTIFIED DIVERS) This dive includes:

• Shark awareness brief (origins of sharks, reproduction, identification etc.)
• 30 min Oceanarium tank dive
• All equipment supplied (can bring own mask and full length wetsuit)
• Debrief & Certificate

The Shark Dive experience commences with an Oceanarium tunnel tour where you are introduced to the sharks from a distance. Then move into the shark dive classroom for a SCUBA equipment and safety briefing. A certified diver only session will then gear up and get straight into the Oceanarium. Tune Up and Certified divers on an introductory session will refresh their skills in the pool to ensure they're very comfortable in the water and know how to recover their regulator and clear their mask. Then it's time for some final gear checks before diving in to the main aquarium! After the Dive After your breathtaking dive you can re-live your encounters with the creatures of the deep whilst enjoying refreshments and admiring the magnificent view of Sydney Harbour in Oceanworld's beach front Cafe.

After your breathtaking dive you can re-live your encounters with the creatures of the deep whilst enjoying refreshments and admiring the magnificent view of Sydney Harbour in Oceanworld's beach front Cafe. Your Shark Dive or Feed Xtreme experience entitles you to free admission to Oceanworld; including interactive daily guided shows and guided tours and any special activities or feeds.

Dive Times

Shark dives operate 7 days per week and several times per day. Bookings are essential so please confirm your time upon purchasing voucher. The program will take approximately 2.5 hours.

What to Bring

Swimming costume, towel, toiletries and diving certification for qualified divers. You may bring your own full length wetsuit and mask if you wish.

Additional Information

• You will enter the Oceanarium approximately one hour after your dive starts
• Do not drink alcohol within 12 hours before the dive and do not fly in an aircraft within 24 hours after you dive
• Participant must have a satisfactory level of health
• Medical restriction include asthma, epilepsy, chronic chest, sinus or ear problems, recent injuries or surgeries.
• Participants must be able to swim and speak fluent English
• Divers must be aged at least 14 years, and 14-16 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
